The story is a fusion of four fairytales, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood which strike at the child's heart within us all.

presented by the Vienna Festival Ballet

A lively ballet, infused with old world charm, Coppelia is a ballet which appeals to everyone who appreciates brilliant dance, and is also a wonderful ballet for family audiences who will delight in the story, colourful costumes, lively characters and the beautiful music from Delibes.

The Nutcracker

presented by the Vienna Festival Ballet

The enchanting tale of The Nutcracker is one of the best-loved ballets and centres around Clara and her nutcracker doll, which magically transforms into a princely soldier. Their adventures see the Prince and Clara combat the Mouse King and join the Sugar Plum Fairy for a wonderful trip to a Kingdom made entirely of sweets.

Classical Christmas Concert

Tuesday 23rd December 2008
The ESO String Orchestra returns to Number 8 for its annual Christmas celebration. This year the featured instrument is the oboe, and soloist Paul Arden-Taylor will be playing concerti by Albinoni and Telemann, as well as "Gabriel's Oboe" from The Mission.  A highlight of the concert will be a concerto for oboe and violin by Bach, where Paul will be joined by ESO leader Michael Bochmann.Event details »
